Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality embedded software for avionics flight display system platforms, services, and applications.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from concept through deployment.
- Define requirements, design software architectures, implement modules, and deliver new features with cross-functional teams.
- Own software modules and contribute to the integration of software with existing avionics systems.
- Identify and implement software improvements and optimizations.
- Perform software architecture, coding, and feature definition.
- Stay current with avionics technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- At least 6 years of experience in embedded software development.
- Expertise in low-level embedded software development using C/C++, higher-level embedded applications, graphics/displays, or a combination of these areas.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is valued.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, OpenGL, Vulkan, or similar technologies.
- Experience developing software in a real-time operating system.
- Embedded software experience in aerospace, avionics, display technologies, or related industries is valued.
- Experience with avionics products such as displays and graphics, flight management, flight planning, flight controls, flight displays, TCAS, crew alert messaging, terrain, or radios is valued.
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
- Exposure to rendering methodologies including Vulkan, OpenGL, or OGLX is a plus.
- Candidates must meet Honeywell’s U.S. Person requirements or have the ability to obtain export authorization.
