Senior Software Engineer, Access Controls

Responsibilities
- Develop embedded control systems for vehicle access-control features, including locking, authentication, and device localization.
- Develop requirements and test cases modeled in Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow.
- Improve simulation models and platforms for analyzing, optimizing, and troubleshooting access-control and localization algorithms.
- Integrate features into controller code, test software on vehicles, and assist with feature calibration.
- Support FMEA activities, ISO 26262 compliance, diagnostics, communications, and interfaces across controllers and ECUs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on controls problems, vehicle integration, hardware bring-up, supplier management, and production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive systems, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of experience with automotive control systems and advanced controls algorithms.
- Expert knowledge of model-based design using Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow.
- Expert understanding of automatic control systems, including compensator design, Kalman filtering, and PID tuning.
- Proficiency in C and C++ and integration into embedded ECUs.
- Experience with JAMA, JIRA, Git, and Confluence.
- Preferred experience with vehicle access or ingress/egress controls and RF, BLE, or UWB technologies.
- Preferred experience with Kalman filters, machine learning, clustering techniques, ISO 26262, Autosar, electric-vehicle controller design, CANalyzer, CANape, and Embedded Coder.
- A master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field is preferred.
