Base Salary
$150k - $168k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and polish core Notion Android surfaces including page reading, writing and editing, navigation, Home, Search, and Inbox.
- Develop on a native Kotlin and Jetpack Compose stack with attention to startup speed, scrolling performance, offline reliability, and app quality.
- Partner with product managers and designers to turn ideas into shipped features and iterate using feedback and data.
- Use AI coding tools and agents while reviewing generated changes, testing behavior, and maintaining accountability for quality.
- Own a core Android product area from ideation through launch within the first year.
- Diagnose and improve startup time, scrolling, typing latency, crashes, and memory usage, and add tests and monitoring to prevent regressions.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping Android apps through professional work, internships, or personal projects.
- Comfort with modern Android technologies including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, and Gradle.
- Interest in native UI quality, performance profiling, custom text rendering, complex lazy lists, or rich-text editing.
- Product judgment and attention to interaction details, polish, user feedback, and data.
- Ability to clarify problems, communicate trade-offs in writing, and seek help when needed.
- Ability to use AI tools and agents for task framing, code review, testing, investigation, and workflow improvement.
- Experience with large modular codebases, performance profiling, real-time collaboration, offline sync, hybrid-to-native migrations, or 0-to-1 development is a plus.
- Web experience with TypeScript, React, or Node is welcome but not required.
