Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the Maps API layer and Map Display SDK for Uber’s iOS applications.
- Architect stable, ergonomic APIs used by hundreds of product engineers.
- Collaborate with Rider, Driver, and Eats feature teams to identify developer pain points and drive platform improvements.
- Write maintainable Swift and Objective-C code with strong stability, backward compatibility, and test coverage.
- Diagnose, profile, and resolve platform regressions, memory leaks, concurrency issues, and mobile performance problems.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, developer documentation, and sample-code development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience developing and shipping iOS applications or frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design.
- Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C and familiarity with the iOS SDK, runtime, and memory management.
- Experience writing production-ready code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Preferred experience designing, distributing, and maintaining reusable iOS SDKs, libraries, or APIs.
- Preferred experience with large-scale mobile monorepos, advanced build systems, mapping technologies, graphics frameworks, mobile performance profiling, developer documentation, and sample code.
Benefits
- Base salary for San Francisco-based roles is USD $171,000-$190,000 per year.
- Eligible for Uber’s bonus program and may be offered equity awards and other compensation.
