Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Stripe Identity mobile SDKs and verification experiences across iOS, Android, and React Native.
- Create accessible and polished identity-document and selfie-capture experiences that account for device capabilities and real-world conditions.
- Build reliable SDK APIs, reusable components, and developer-facing integration experiences.
- Deliver features end to end across mobile clients, supporting APIs, and services.
- Improve mobile performance, reliability, observability, testing, release processes, and backward compatibility.
- Make architectural decisions balancing user experience, developer experience, security, privacy, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, machine-learning engineers, backend engineers, researchers, mobile teams, Stripe users, and field teams.
- Operate owned systems and SDKs, diagnose production issues, and establish mobile-engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software-development experience, including meaningful experience building and shipping mobile applications or SDKs.
- Experience developing for a major mobile platform using Swift or Objective-C for iOS.
- Strong software-design fundamentals and experience creating maintainable APIs, components, or frameworks.
- Experience delivering mobile functionality beyond an isolated UI layer, including API and service integration, local state, or device capabilities.
- Experience testing, debugging, monitoring, and improving mobile software in production.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners and commitment to high-quality user and developer experiences.
- Preferred: experience with mobile SDKs, shared libraries, developer-facing APIs, iOS and Android, React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform, camera or biometric experiences, sensitive data, accessibility, internationalization, mobile performance, unreliable networks, mobile CI, automated testing, release automation, observability, developer-productivity tooling, or backend APIs and services.
