Responsibilities
- Manage production and pre-production environments for the Community website at the application and configuration level.
- Manage code build, deployment, release scheduling, release documentation, and deployment resource coordination across environments.
- Serve as release manager, troubleshoot deployment issues, and initiate rollback procedures when necessary.
- Coordinate global information systems teams, developers, and vendors to resolve application, performance, and system incidents.
- Lead post-outage root cause analysis and recommend improvements to site reliability and stability.
- Gather and monitor application performance, file system, and application log metrics to assess production stability.
- Manage analytics and reporting capabilities and create ad-hoc and automated reports.
- Maintain application support, environment, and technical documentation.
- Communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations and accountabilities.
Requirements
- Typically 6+ years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Strong experience supporting high-availability websites.
- Proficiency with UNIX/Linux operating systems and experience administering Windows servers and virtual machines.
- Significant database experience, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Expert scripting skills with Bash, PowerShell, or similar tools.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, including Azure or AWS.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
- Desirable experience includes community platforms such as Jive, Verint, or Khoros; edge caching with Akamai; server monitoring with Dynatrace; Terraform or similar tools; Azure; and analytics tools such as Omniture.
- Ability to work with distributed teams.
