Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance FeeNavigator features using PHP/Laravel and Vue.
- Develop efficient database queries and optimize MySQL performance.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and validate changes through production.
- Refactor complex areas of a large codebase and decompose high-complexity components into maintainable code.
- Document business logic, application workflows, and architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers on requirements and technical solution design.
- Participate in code reviews and share engineering best practices.
- Work with SRE to make software observable, resilient, secure, and production-ready.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents, defects, and performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to improvements in development processes, tooling, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing complex applications.
- Fluency in PHP, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and modern development practices.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, Vue, npm, and basic CSS/SCSS.
- Ability to navigate large established codebases and work with limited guidance.
- Familiarity with secure coding principles and experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience contributing across the full software development lifecycle.
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools with appropriate review and validation.
- Preferred experience with Laravel or similar PHP frameworks; Quasar, Pinia, and Vite; Docker; Redis or Memcached; AWS services; Sentry or New Relic; cloud-native or SaaS architectures; Python, Flask, Pandas, or scikit-learn; and integrating AI capabilities into applications.
