Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Propose product hypotheses and visions, size opportunities, define success metrics, and execute growth experiments.
  • Design, ship, instrument, analyze, and iterate on experiments intended to improve console retention and daily active users.
  • Build service, client, and instrumentation features across console and potentially web, mobile, and external surfaces from prototype through general availability.
  • Design telemetry, metrics, analytics systems, and scorecards so experiment results can be evaluated objectively.
  • Make focused production changes in unfamiliar codebases owned by other teams and participate in the live-site and on-call rotation.
  • Use agentic and AI-enhanced workflows across the engineering lifecycle to accelerate research, prototyping, implementation, debugging, and iteration.
  • Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, and engineering practices.
  • Build secure, reliable, high-performing systems that meet Microsoft privacy, compliance, and security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, XAML, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
  • Preferred experience shipping production A/B tests end to end, including experiment design, instrumentation, analysis, rollout, quality, and guardrails.
  • Preferred experience in growth engineering, retention, engagement, acquisition, or experimentation-focused teams.
  • Preferred experience building and shipping full-stack features with TypeScript, React, XAML, C#, .NET, and cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Preferred experience proposing, shipping, and measuring product ideas while owning growth, engagement, retention, or monetization metrics.
  • Preferred experience collaborating across teams and making production changes in unfamiliar architectures and codebases.
  • Preferred experience with large-scale telemetry, metric design, and analytics platforms such as Kusto or Databricks.
  • Preferred experience using AI extensively to accelerate engineering velocity.
  • Preferred experience shipping consumer products at scale in gaming, entertainment, commerce, or subscription businesses.

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is $119,800-$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of $160,200-$261,000 per year.
