Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based backend services and data processing components.
- Build scalable data ingestion, transformation, integration, and backend data services.
- Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and support production application and data systems.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend and data services.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders in cross-functional Agile teams.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Support production operations and resolve defects across application and data layers.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Java development skills.
- Experience with data-oriented systems, ETL processes, or backend data services.
- Understanding of APIs, databases, and distributed application design.
- Experience with Spark, Kafka, or comparable large-scale data platform technologies.
- Strong analytical, debugging, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to ramp quickly into existing systems and contribute effectively in collaborative engineering environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, data pipeline operations, and high-volume enterprise systems is preferred.
- Enterprise experience is strongly preferred.
Benefits
- Contract engagement with 100% allocation, approximately 40 hours per week.
- APAC location with required U.S. Central Time coverage and some overlap with India Standard Time.
- Preferably available through 11:00 a.m. U.S. Central Time.
- Contract currently scheduled through March 31, 2027.
