Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and improve secure, scalable, reliable, and highly automated AWS infrastructure.
- Investigate complex production and cloud infrastructure issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive improvements.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Argo CD.
- Drive automation, AI-enabled operational improvements, observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, and faster incident resolution.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, security, networking, project management, governance, and business teams to integrate and optimize cloud solutions.
- Lead cloud platform initiatives, evaluate options and constraints, and recommend solutions based on customer value, risk, security, cost, and feasibility.
- Build cloud platform knowledge assets and enable self-service for engineering teams using AI tools.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide production support outside regular business hours.
- Research and adopt AWS services, AI-powered solutions, cloud-native technologies, and DevOps/platform engineering tools.
- Mentor junior colleagues and act as a technical subject matter expert across departmental teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, cloud platform engineering, or network engineering with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, scripting, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, Terraform Cloud, CloudFormation, Bicep, and ARM.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for cloud operations, incident resolution, diagnostics, and operational decision-making.
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux, including Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and DNS.
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including container lifecycle management, cluster administration, workload orchestration, and platform operations.
- Hands-on experience with Bash, PowerShell, and Python automation.
- Proficiency with AWS security tools and strong knowledge of AWS networking services, including Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, load balancers, Internet Gateway, and NAT Gateway.
- Ability to develop practical solutions, work collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Cloud platform or infrastructure certifications are an asset, including AWS Certified Solutions Architecture Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions, Azure Administrator Associate, Terraform Associate, and Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
