Responsibilities
- Design workload and service-management infrastructure.
- Develop core infrastructure components hands-on.
- Build scalable systems and services with high-quality architecture and design.
- Analyze serious system issues deeply and proactively resolve recurring root causes.
- Provide mechanisms that help the team simplify complex problems, prioritize decisively, and move with urgency.
- Collaborate with Coupang’s technical leaders to improve service scalability and create innovation opportunities.
- Lead the team responsible for implementing the developer platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Practical experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems within the last three years.
- Proficiency in at least one of Golang, C/C++, Python, or Java.
- Successful experience delivering mission-critical systems.
- Experience using cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Go, and AWS.
- Preferred experience with JSON, YAML, Jsonnet, and gRPC.
- Preferred deep understanding of operating-system kernels and distributed systems such as Kafka, Cassandra, and Google Spanner.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading, synchronization, and non-blocking I/O is preferred.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and lead large-scale service releases in a rapidly changing environment.
- Fluent or effective English communication skills are preferred.
- A master’s or doctoral degree in computer science or another related technical field is preferred.
