Responsibilities
- Design a greenfield AWS data lake architecture, schemas, and data contracts with upstream HR and talent systems while supporting PIPA compliance.
- Consolidate relocation, visa, vendor, and payroll source systems into unified ETL pipelines.
- Build multi-country data routing engines for operations across Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and other markets.
- Deliver operational BI, analytical reporting, and process automation for Global Mobility, payroll, and compliance teams.
- Create data quality frameworks, validation rules, monitoring, and automated alerting for production pipelines.
- Own technical execution, infrastructure provisioning, tool selection, architecture decision records, and operational runbooks.
- Balance the Q3 go-live target with long-term architectural integrity and scalability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of production software engineering experience with an SDE background and deep Python or Java expertise.
- Strong AWS infrastructure and database design skills, including experience with EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and Glue.
- At least 1 year of ETL/ELT pipeline design and orchestration experience using Airflow, Temporal, or similar tools.
- Experience with dynamic schema design, data validation, pipeline observability, and end-to-end system architecture.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into concrete technical specifications for near-term and future scale.
- Strong collaboration and documentation skills, including partnership with PMs and cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of data governance, privacy standards, compliance requirements, and cross-functional stakeholder priorities.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with sensitive PII, privacy or compliance standards, Coupang’s technology stack, multi-region deployments, greenfield-to-production delivery, and asynchronous or non-English technical collaboration.
