Responsibilities
- Gather functional and technical requirements and design, prototype, test, debug, and deploy secure programs, custom applications, reports, workflows, and integrations.
- Support, troubleshoot, maintain, and modernize Ellucian Banner ERP and other SDSURF enterprise systems.
- Develop Oracle SQL and PL/SQL applications, reports, data processes, database objects, and integrations with external systems and business applications.
- Create, test, and debug Linux shell scripts, scheduled jobs, and automated reports.
- Provide end-user support, investigate software and data solutions, and supply data for internal and external reporting.
- Build and share centralized, certified tables and packages based on defined business rules to support accurate reporting.
- Document code, systems, programs, processes, and users, and follow change-management, security, quality-assurance, and production-migration controls.
- Occasionally work beyond typical business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
- At least two years of related work experience in systems design, analysis, or programming.
- Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming, advanced queries, reports, data analysis, coding, testing, integration, and maintenance.
- Ability to create, test, and debug Linux shell scripts, scheduled jobs, and automated reports, with knowledge of Linux, Bash, permissions, and environment variables.
- Ability to develop complex Oracle applications and data integrations and knowledge of software development lifecycle activities from design through production migration.
- Strong customer service, communication, training, requirements-gathering, organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Preferred experience with Oracle Application Express, Ellucian Banner, APIs, web services, Oracle database design, Linux/Unix shell scripting, TOAD, SQL Developer, Git, GitHub, and relational databases.
- Ability to consult with end users and stakeholders, analyze business processes, develop technical specifications, and maintain accurate documentation.
