Responsibilities

  • Lead development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems and owned components.
  • Optimize code and data paths for high-throughput workloads and develop large-scale retrieval, storage, and processing capabilities.
  • Design fault-tolerant, redundant, replicated, failover-capable, and in-service-upgradable systems that meet SLOs.
  • Build KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, fault-injection validation, replication, synchronization, and correctness mechanisms.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, ensure operational readiness, mentor peers, and support cloud DevOps operations.
  • Implement security controls, remediation, compliance documentation, infrastructure-as-code, and automation for safe patching, updates, and rollbacks.
  • Perform software scoping, architecture, specification, development, source control, code review, documentation, testing, and milestone execution.
  • Communicate project status and risks, develop mitigation strategies, and collaborate with distributed and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
  • Hands-on experience developing multithreaded embedded Linux applications or infrastructure, firmware, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with network or storage stacks and protocols such as P4, DOCA, TCP/IP, NVMe, PCIe, or DPDK.
  • Knowledge of Intel, AMD, or ARM computer architectures and experience with hardware or system bring-up.
  • Experience with Linux kernel and driver programming, Linux, virtualization technologies, and remote lab equipment.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in data analysis, automation, compliance, quality assurance, scripting, software test plans, code review, embedded systems, software estimation, and user experience development.
  • At least 3 years of software development experience with a doctorate, 5 years with a master's degree, 7 years with a bachelor's degree, or 11 years without a listed degree.
  • At least 3 years of academic or professional experience with cloud platforms, 5 years of system-level testing and automation, and 4 years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Preferred qualifications include the same software development requirements and 1 year of experience with cloud platforms.
