Responsibilities

  • Lead the cross-team evolution of middleware patterns and runtimes for interoperability and scale.
  • Define versioning, deprecation, API lifecycle, compatibility, and safe rollout strategies.
  • Drive observability baselines, SLOs, error budgets, resilience patterns, capacity planning, and service reliability improvements.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, profile, and optimize scalable software and APIs.
  • Provide architectural guidance, conduct code reviews, and coach less experienced engineers.
  • Investigate complex cross-service, maintenance, defect, and customer-reported issues and implement durable solutions.
  • Create migration guides, adoption playbooks, software documentation, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate moderately complex projects and initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in candidate interviews and provide hiring recommendations.

Requirements

  • At least 11 years of software development experience without a degree, or 7 years with a relevant bachelor's degree, 5 years with a relevant master's degree, or 3 years with a relevant doctorate.
  • Six years of experience with programming and/or scripting languages such as SQL, C/C++, or JavaScript.
  • Four years of experience with databases.
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis, automation, compliance, quality assurance, scripting, software test plans, code review, software estimation, and agile delivery.
  • Knowledge of user experience development and embedded systems.
  • Preferred: one year of experience with operating budgets and/or project financials.
  • Preferred: three years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle Cloud.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, resolve complex issues, and collaborate across teams.
