Base Salary
$208k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision, architectural direction, best practices, and quality bar for the Channels division.
- Lead large, ambiguous, cross-team projects from problem framing and design documentation through implementation, rollout, and operational support.
- Help teams evolve channel stacks and foundational primitives for sophisticated marketing use cases.
- Mentor engineers at every level through code reviews, architecture reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Improve reliability and operability through better observability, error handling, incremental rollouts, and incident reduction.
- Design and build foundational systems, frameworks, platforms, and code-generation tooling.
- Evolve message editors and dashboard capabilities, including real-time feedback and channel-specific settings.
- Migrate legacy frontend logic to modern React-based dashboard systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful technical leadership across multiple teams or complex product systems.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and proficiency in modern frontend environments using TypeScript and React.
- Experience designing and shipping foundational infrastructure, frameworks, libraries, or platform services used by many engineers.
- Strong architectural judgment and the ability to make technical decisions for a maturing product suite.
- Effective communication and mentoring skills, including translating technical debt into business risk.
- Track record of identifying high-leverage work, building consensus, and completing ambiguous projects with minimal direction.
- Bonus: experience with shared component libraries or design system primitives.
- Bonus: experience with real-time systems or event-driven architectures for message orchestration.
- Bonus: experience with developer experience tooling such as code generation, scaffolding, or CI/CD for large-scale codebases.
- Bonus: experience maturing a product from early stage to enterprise scale without losing developer velocity.
