Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other stakeholders to align technical direction with product goals and customer needs.
- Own the delivery, quality, and reliability of client-facing applications from the user interface through the data store at a system-wide level.
- Lead the design and evolution of scalable architectures across teams and platforms.
- Drive trade-offs among speed, maintainability, scalability, and long-term operational health.
- Partner with Product Management on project ideas, technical discovery, and solution shaping for complex initiatives.
- Engage with customers, stakeholders, and peers to ensure solutions address meaningful problems and deliver measurable value.
- Support production issues, profile performance, and lead root cause analysis.
- Create secure, reliable, scalable, and well-documented API endpoints through Apollo GraphQL.
- Develop reusable components and frameworks for data transformation, anomaly detection, and data quality improvements.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend how to integrate them into products and engineering solutions.
- Present products, architectural direction, and key initiatives to stakeholders and leadership.
- Mentor and develop engineers across teams through code reviews, design discussions, technical coaching, and planning.
- Operate effectively in an Agile/Scrum product development environment and drive solutions independently.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 4+ years of experience contributing to architecture and design.
- Experience with or ability to learn Python, NestJS, React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Experience with database warehousing and data pipelines such as Snowflake and Airflow; AWS knowledge is preferred.
- Strong system design skills and the ability to make thoughtful trade-offs among design approaches.
- Strong software engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, documentation, and operational ownership.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, and influence across teams and departments.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across an engineering organization.
- Demonstrated success delivering high-value customer outcomes quickly and frequently.
