Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and deploy AI and machine learning systems for banking business challenges.
- Research and apply generative AI models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation frameworks, and agentic system design.
- Build autonomous AI systems with reasoning, planning, tool utilization, and comprehensive quality and hallucination evaluation.
- Extract insights from complex data and apply predictive modeling, machine learning, optimization, and statistically valid experimentation.
- Create model documentation and establish standards for data sourcing, bias audits, drift monitoring, model lifecycle gates, and AI development and deployment.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives, define reference architectures, chair design reviews, and influence technical direction across products and platforms.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software, cloud, data engineering, data science, compliance, and security teams to integrate scalable and compliant AI solutions.
- Mentor colleagues, promote knowledge sharing, and educate senior leaders on emerging AI trends, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred but not required.
- At least 6 years of experience developing and deploying machine learning or AI solutions in production environments.
- Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with JavaScript and SQL.
- Expertise in generative AI, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation frameworks, tool integration, and agentic systems.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS and services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, and Lex.
- Experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face, plus knowledge of deep learning, neural networks, traditional machine learning, quantization, and distillation.
- Experience with data visualization, analytical storytelling, AI orchestration frameworks, AI application observability, and model evaluation.
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub, and experience with Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design principles, ethical AI deployment, and Agile environments.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, consensus-building, prioritization, independent-working, and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
