Base Salary
$69k - $110k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software for advanced optical networking features and capabilities.
- Design, develop, validate, document, and test next-generation modem technologies.
- Troubleshoot reported embedded software issues, identify root causes, debug problems, and deliver timely fixes.
- Build expertise in optical transport and switching technologies used in service provider networks.
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams on networking and modem technology development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with C and C++ programming.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, device drivers, Linux, mutual exclusion, synchronization, interrupt handling, and inter-process communication.
- Ability to learn independently, seek answers, collaborate effectively, and communicate through strong verbal and technical writing skills.
- Preferred experience includes datacom and telecom concepts such as DWDM, OTN, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
- Preferred experience includes low-level real-time software or firmware development, CPU hardware architectures, hardware specifications, and timing diagrams.
- Preferred familiarity with Linux, VxWorks, CLI, TL1, SNMP, NETCONF, REST, gRPC, Git, Eclipse, JIRA, Confluence, GDB, Yocto, YANG, Python, Go, Bash, and automation and testing.
