
Forward Deployed Engineer (SPECTR) - Clearance Required

Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, integrate, and validate SPECTR in customer environments.
- Work directly with DoD users to understand mission workflows, technical constraints, and operational pain points.
- Integrate SPECTR with customer systems, APIs, databases, data sources, networks, and mission applications.
- Build production-quality integrations, APIs, scripts, automation, and software capabilities for field requirements.
- Troubleshoot applications, databases, containers, cloud infrastructure, networking, and connected edge systems.
- Support technical demonstrations, pilots, field tests, and operational deployments.
- Translate operational needs into technical solutions and Capability Requests with Field Product Leads.
- Transition useful field-developed capabilities into the SPECTR product with core engineering teams.
- Document configurations, technical solutions, and lessons learned to make deployments faster and more repeatable.
- Travel approximately 50–75% to DoD installations and other customer locations.
Requirements
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- At least 4 years of software engineering, systems integration, solutions engineering, or similar technical experience.
- Strong development skills in C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and working with relational databases and SQL.
- Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting production software.
- Experience with Linux, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or AWS GovCloud.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed-system troubleshooting.
- Ability to translate ambiguous customer requirements into working technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with technical and operational DoD stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently, solve problems quickly, and work effectively in field environments.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to travel 50–75%.
- Preferred experience includes DoD software or integrated-systems delivery; RFID, IoT, sensor systems, edge computing, or asset tracking; .NET/C#, AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, or GitLab; RMF/ATO, IL5/IL6, or other DoD cybersecurity requirements; disconnected or bandwidth-constrained environments; rapid customer prototyping; and Security+, AWS, Kubernetes, or related certifications.
- Active Top Secret clearance is a bonus qualification.
