Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the architecture of the virtual machine platform.
- Ensure platform scalability, security, reliability, maintainability, compliance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Design and standardize VM services across Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-premises environments.
- Develop common guardrails, standards, and integration patterns with compute and infrastructure architects.
- Promote interoperability and consistency across VM environments.
- Co-lead the VM platform team with the Product Owner and Tech Lead.
- Guide engineers in implementing architectural decisions and platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with security, compute, storage, networking, application, and platform teams.
- Communicate the architectural vision and roadmap to stakeholders and leadership.
- Promote container-based solutions and modernize applications to reduce the VM footprint.
Requirements
- Professional Cloud Architect certification for GCP or an equivalent cloud architect certification relevant to designing and operating solutions on GCP.
