Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Design and build technologies in a large distributed computing environment.
- Investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Translate feature specifications into maintainable and extendable working code.
- Build scalable, fault-tolerant, low-cost distributed storage, index, and query systems.
- Design and code solutions for broadly defined problems.
- Deliver high-quality software in an agile environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- 2+ years of experience with Rust.
- Experience with Apache Iceberg.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: Apache Iceberg committer or PMC member status.
