Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deliver, maintain, operate, and monitor resilient distributed software systems powering Apple Wallet.
- Interface between devices and partners to deliver Apple Pay, transit, event ticket, digital key, and identity capabilities.
- Shape platform architecture and design while providing on-call support for the software built.
- Participate in technical discussions, write specifications, review code, and produce documentation.
- Drive complex projects from conception through production and collaborate across teams, disciplines, and external partners.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining complex, distributed software systems.
- Hands-on software development experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring is preferred.
- Development and operational experience with REST or gRPC services is preferred.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native AWS applications, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability tools is preferred.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog is preferred.
- Understanding of modern networking, traffic tracing tools, security, privacy, and cryptography, including PKI, certificate management, and JWT, is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Aurora, DynamoDB, CockroachDB, or Oracle is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly about complex technical concepts and drive projects through production.
- Experience building healthy long-term relationships within and beyond a team is preferred.
- Experience using AI tools to build and understand systems is preferred.
