Base Salary

$182k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own backend services and APIs end to end, including technical design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability.
  • Drive architectural decisions and lead improvements to data pipelines, platform reliability, and business logic.
  • Design safe, repeatable experimentation and A/B testing workflows.
  • Diagnose and resolve data quality, performance, and correctness issues.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested production code and raise engineering standards through code reviews and technical mentorship.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Data to translate goals into technical designs and execution plans.
  • Shape team technical direction and contribute to cross-team architectural discussions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production backend systems.
  • Deep expertise in backend engineering, service design, data modeling, and API development at scale.
  • Experience operating systems where reliability, data quality, and performance are critical.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous technical and cross-functional problem spaces.
  • Data-driven approach to experimentation, measurement, and optimization.
  • Product-minded understanding of how technical decisions affect user experience and business outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with Product, Design, Data, and Data Science partners.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
