Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain services for derivative trade lifecycle management, valuation, pricing, risk, collateral, and reporting.
  • Own the technical design of modules and features, including architecture, data models, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Build cloud-native microservices and data pipelines using containers and managed cloud services.
  • Model derivative products and lifecycle events including swaps, swaptions, caps/floors, CDS, FX forwards, options, NDFs, resets, fixings, amendments, novations, terminations, and compressions.
  • Write clean, testable, and documented code and participate in code and design reviews.
  • Improve production-system performance, resilience, and observability and help resolve complex production issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help improve engineering standards for senior-level work.
  • Collaborate with product, quantitative, operations, and business-stakeholder teams.

Requirements

  • 6–12 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years with derivative asset classes such as IRD, CRD, or FXD.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python; experience with both is preferred.
  • Hands-on AWS cloud development experience, including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong software design skills covering object-oriented programming, SOLID, design patterns, domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and REST/gRPC API design.
  • Working knowledge of derivative pricing and valuation, curves, trade lifecycle, and clearing or margining.
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and messaging systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
  • Strong unit, integration, and automated testing practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills and ability to work with business stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience with Spring Boot, FastAPI, distributed computing, low-latency design, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field is preferred; CFA or FRM certifications are a plus.
