Responsibilities
- Design and program software modules, components, features, and feature areas for web and cloud applications.
- Capture system-level requirements and collaborate with architects, data scientists, business stakeholders, and product managers.
- Identify work scope, estimate development effort, and justify estimates with supporting facts.
- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, whiteboarding, and architecture activities.
- Guide a team of two to three developers in planning, execution, and/or design architecture.
- Deliver work against product release goals while maintaining code quality through best practices, unit testing, and code-quality automation.
- Contribute to build, release, and deployment processes and provide feedback on design and development.
- Address application and infrastructure architecture concerns, including performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on backend or frontend development experience in web or cloud applications.
- Experience implementing applications on Azure or AWS using Docker and containerization.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
- Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Hands-on knowledge of session management, caching, algorithms and data structures, and secure coding.
- Experience with web servers, RESTful web services, AMQP, MQTT, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
- Strong understanding of programming concepts, object-oriented programming, design principles and patterns, architecture, refactoring, maintainable and reusable code, test-driven development, unit testing, debugging, and automation.
- Understanding of application and infrastructure architecture and non-functional concerns such as performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Ability to break down problems, estimate development tasks, collaborate, influence, and articulate technical ideas.
- Bachelor-level graduation in Computer Science or a STEM major is required.
