Responsibilities
- Partner with firmware and software developers to reproduce complex customer and field issues, isolate root causes, and verify bug fixes.
- Architect end-to-end test strategies and author functional, system, regression, and feature test plans.
- Drive the complete Software Testing Life Cycle, including defect identification, filing, prioritization, tracking, and closure.
- Develop, execute, and maintain Python-based automated test suites for functional, regression, and system testing.
- Qualify firewall subsystems and features against requirements, performance limits, and edge cases.
- Design system testbeds that simulate enterprise network topologies.
- Mentor team members on test methodologies, test tool development, and network security validation.
- Collaborate with development, product management, and sustaining teams across geographically distributed locations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software quality assurance experience in networking and network security for enterprise network products, appliances, or firewalls.
- 8+ years of test engineering and automation experience in networking or network security, including senior, lead, or principal-level test execution.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, IP routing, NAT, VLANs, and stateful packet filtering across L2-L7 networking.
- Strong expertise in network security and next-generation firewall technologies, including Deep Packet Inspection, SSL/TLS, IPSec/SSL VPN, and access rules.
- Hands-on Python programming and scripting experience, including object-oriented programming, test framework development, and REST API automation.
- Experience with traffic generators and test tools such as IXIA, Spirent, Scapy, and tcpreplay.
- Advanced ability to capture and analyze network packets using Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Experience analyzing system logs, core dumps, and device diagnostics to troubleshoot system and firmware behavior.
- Mastery of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycles, and Agile/Scrum practices.
- Strong analytical, ownership, collaboration, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
