Responsibilities
- Develop and test complex or non-routine software applications and related procedures.
- Design moderately complex systems and create APIs for business-unit consumers.
- Apply software design principles, data structures, design patterns, database design, and computer science fundamentals to build clean, maintainable, optimized, modular code.
- Test, monitor, debug, and fix software issues within established SLAs.
- Lead complex, well-defined projects and clarify code evolution through code reviews.
- Identify inefficiencies in code or system operations and recommend improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge with the team and engineering community.
- Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to solve problems and address cross-team dependencies.
- Compile and report on major operational or technical initiatives, including root-cause analyses.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a master’s degree.
- Experience developing software in at least three different programming languages.
- Experience maintaining or operating at least four software projects or products in production, including bug fixing, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
- Strength in multiple languages or in one language with multiple technology implementations.
- Ability to select appropriate technologies, understand system and team interactions, and design moderately complex systems.
- Knowledge of testing and monitoring tools, software frameworks, databases, database design, and software design principles.
- Ability to understand business needs, identify project-level problems, and provide solutions.
- Ability to work with multiple technologies and understand relationships among applications, databases, and technology platforms.
