Base Salary
$120k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve backend systems including REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems, and distributed task-processing systems.
- Write scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable code shared across platforms.
- Contribute product and backend-system improvements and help establish engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Debug production issues across services and stack layers and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Apply OWASP Top 10 techniques and organizational policies to protect information assets and report security or policy violations.
- Practice test-driven development and maintain high standards for code quality, automated testing, and correctness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- A few years of experience building web applications.
- Experience or strong interest in developing applications with Node.js.
- Experience implementing highly available distributed systems and microservices.
- Experience building scalable backend APIs.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Postgres.
- Understanding of monitoring and alerting platforms is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, willingness to learn, and bias toward action.
