Base Salary
$150k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the agent platform, infrastructure, and integrations runtime end to end.
- Define engineering patterns and standards for the future engineering team.
- Work directly with the founders by providing technical leadership and opinion.
- Build and continuously ship production-ready, observable, and reliable systems.
- Develop end-to-end frontend, backend, and infrastructure features with measurable customer impact.
- Implement observability, monitoring, tracing, retry, and queuing patterns for production distributed systems.
Requirements
- 3 to 9 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build a product or system from 0 to 1 through an early-stage startup or serious side project.
- Strong early-stage, venture-backed startup background; experience exclusively at large technology companies, enterprises, or consultancies does not meet the stated bar.
- Proficiency with TypeScript and React for full-stack and frontend development.
- Proficiency with Node.js for backend development.
- Experience integrating or building workflows around large language models and agent-based platforms.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and PostgreSQL.
- Experience owning end-to-end feature development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and tracing in production systems.
- Experience building reliable retry and queuing patterns in distributed systems.
- A strong computer science or engineering foundation, ideally from a rigorous degree program.
- Enthusiasm for joining as employee number one at a true early-stage company.
Benefits
- Salary range of $150,000 to $250,000 USD annually.
- Visa sponsorship is available where an O-1 visa is a realistic path.
- On-site in San Francisco five days per week.
- Bay Area candidates are preferred; US-based candidates with a concrete, dated relocation plan to San Francisco will also be considered.
