Base Salary
$173k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, reusable data models.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-quality batch and real-time data pipelines under defined SLAs.
- Partner with product, analytics, business, and engineering teams to build trusted, documented foundational datasets.
- Drive data strategy, consistency, reliability, and access to core company metrics across multiple teams.
- Identify, document, and promote data engineering best practices across Slack.
- Contribute to GovSlack initiatives supporting government and highly regulated organizations.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, master data management, or metadata management.
- Demonstrate hands-on expertise with columnar, star schema, snowflake, and dimensional modeling.
- Have experience optimizing schemas, tuning SQL, and scaling ETL pipelines in OLAP and data warehouse environments.
- Have experience with Airflow or a comparable workflow orchestration platform.
- Be highly proficient in Python and SQL.
- Be familiar with data governance frameworks, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident and willing to undergo a background check for GovSlack authorization.
- Preferred experience includes Spark SQL, AWS, Amazon S3, Amazon EMR, Apache Pinot, Hadoop, Flink, Scala, AWS, GCP, Azure, and NoSQL data stores.
