Base Salary
$140k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Expand DevDawg cloud development environments and Spice automated review and root-cause tooling.
- Build shared API-layer patterns covering REST blueprints, GraphQL schemas, OpenAPI, realtime functionality, authentication, and permissions.
- Modernize the backend framework layer, including web and asynchronous compute frameworks, performance improvements, and Flask-to-FastAPI migration paths.
- Own observability, metrics, alerting, and production-readiness standards across backend systems.
- Develop shared backend services and primitives for eventing, event logs, database-change safety, migrations, delegated access, auditability, internal administration, and support APIs.
- Set static-analysis, linting, hooks, and test-harness guardrails for coding agents.
- Partner with infrastructure teams while owning the application layer above AWS, Kubernetes, and datastores.
- Work directly with internal engineering customers and contribute across teams as organizational priorities shift.
Requirements
- Seasoned Python engineering experience with strong architectural judgment.
- Meaningful production experience shipping LLM-backed or agentic work to real users.
- Hands-on use of coding agents and a well-developed perspective on their strengths and limitations.
- Experience with observability, telemetry, metrics, tracing, alerting, Sentry, and production operations.
- Experience designing and shipping internet-facing APIs.
- Experience debugging production incidents, owning relied-upon systems, and responding to customer-impacting failures.
- A builder-oriented approach focused on adoption and practical delivery.
- Experience with or willingness to work across Go, Rust, or TypeScript is welcome.
