Responsibilities
- Develop and train learned behavior models using behavior cloning, imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and related approaches.
- Implement production-quality machine learning code for model training, evaluation, and inference within the autonomy stack.
- Analyze model performance and failure modes and improve robustness and generalization across driving scenarios.
- Build training pipelines and data workflows using behavior datasets from simulation, fleet logs, and on-vehicle data.
- Collaborate with simulation, validation, and autonomy engineering teams to test and integrate learned behavior models.
- Develop tooling and infrastructure that improve experimentation speed, reproducibility, and model iteration.
- Contribute to technical discussions about model architectures and training strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field with 4+ years of industry experience, or a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
- Experience applying imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or sequence modeling to robotics, autonomous systems, or complex control environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python and PyTorch and experience writing production-quality machine learning code.
- Experience training and evaluating machine learning models with large datasets and scalable compute environments.
- Understanding of autonomy-related ML architectures such as transformers, graph neural networks, and sequence models.
- Experience debugging model behavior, analyzing performance metrics, and iterating on training pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and integrate ML models into larger software systems.
- Preferred experience includes autonomous driving, robotics, simulation-based training, reinforcement learning frameworks, distributed training systems such as Ray, vehicle dynamics, motion planning, multi-agent decision-making, and production ML deployment.
