Base Salary
$150k - $284k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and roadmap for real-time drivers, embedded RTOS configuration, and shared platform middleware across vehicle programs.
- Develop common libraries and collaborate with systems, application, safety, and hardware teams.
- Establish embedded coding, safety-critical design, and low-level software quality standards.
- Mentor engineers on embedded architecture, functional safety, and low-level driver development.
- Configure and optimize real-time drivers and embedded RTOS for deterministic automotive applications.
- Develop low-level drivers and middleware that abstract hardware peripherals for application layers.
- Design and manage memory layouts for real-time performance, resource constraints, and functional safety.
- Architect and implement CAN, LIN, automotive Ethernet, SPI, and I2C networking stacks.
- Optimize network stack throughput, latency, and determinism across safety-relevant communication paths.
- Apply ISO 26262 principles, MISRA C guidelines, and ASIL requirements to platform software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Strong hands-on Embedded C development experience with adherence to MISRA C standards.
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety processes for embedded software architecture and development.
- Hands-on experience developing and debugging CAN, LIN, and other automotive communication protocols.
- Familiarity with embedded debugging tools such as JTAG and GDB.
- Proven experience configuring embedded RTOS and developing low-level drivers and middleware for automotive-grade microcontrollers.
- Preferred familiarity with Renode, Bazel, CANoe, CANalyzer, and CANape.
- Preferred experience developing or integrating software for real-time control systems.
- Preferred familiarity with automotive Ethernet, SPI, and I2C.
