Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the highest software technical authority for AvionX airborne software architectures from definition through certification closure.
  • Lead architecture coherence, integrity, DO-178C/LOR compliance, safety objectives, and regulatory strategy across commercial and defense platforms.
  • Direct embedded software design, development, testing, debugging, maintenance, verification, and certification.
  • Consult on embedded software code and integration with specialized hardware components.
  • Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs and maintain requirements traceability.
  • Advise management and influence enterprise software engineering practices, tools, frameworks, regulations, and hardware-software integration approaches.
  • Oversee embedded software efficiency, stability, supplier performance, and compliance with project plans and industry standards.
  • Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years of experience programming in C/C++.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing embedded software using one or more of Wind River Systems VxWorks, DDC-I Deos, or Green Hills Software Integrity RTOS.
  • At least 5 years of experience with embedded software development, verification, or certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience with DO-178 high-DAL certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Matlab/Simulink.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government for the clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include a relevant Bachelor of Science degree, software architecture and design knowledge, real-time development and testing expertise, requirements derivation and traceability knowledge, hardware-software integration skills, supplier assessment experience, and project management capabilities.
  • Preferred programming knowledge includes C#, Java, J2EE, J2ME, C++, Visual Basic, C, Assembly, Ladder Logic, Numerical Control programming, and Matlab.
  • Preferred knowledge includes TCP/IP, FTP, XML, WAP, Windows, Unix, Linux, database engines, software testing tools, real-time debugging and instrumentation, and aircraft or product certification systems.
