Responsibilities
- Design and implement SAI object types and APIs for switch ASIC platforms.
- Develop and maintain switch SDK components, low-level ASIC drivers, control-plane interfaces, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Integrate SAI and SDK components with SONiC and other network operating systems.
- Build test frameworks and harnesses, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and write unit and integration tests.
- Profile and optimize performance for latency, throughput, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems teams on ASIC requirements and integration issues.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and establish SAI/SDK development practices.
- Use AI coding assistants and emerging development tools to improve development velocity and code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and deep systems programming knowledge.
- Hands-on switch ASIC or SDK development experience with Broadcom, Marvell, Intel, or similar platforms.
- Linux systems programming experience, including kernel interfaces and driver development.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex hardware/software integration issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to AI-first development practices and continuous learning.
- Preferred: SAI implementation, SONiC or other network operating system integration, network protocol implementation, high-speed interconnect, ASIC architecture, performance profiling, open-source contributions, technical leadership, mentoring, AI-assisted development tools, and test automation experience.
