Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade control-plane microservices, custom Kubernetes operators, and reconciliation engines in Rust and Go.
- Author functional and non-functional requirements, architectural specifications, system sequence diagrams, and gRPC/Protobuf and REST API schemas.
- Develop integrations for SONiC, NVUE, Cumulus, and DPU hardware platforms.
- Instrument distributed services with OpenTelemetry traces and metrics and perform root-cause analysis.
- Participate in review-gated pull request workflows and maintain high test coverage with mock-driven testing.
- Contribute to open-source systems projects and participate in cross-functional architecture reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience in cloud-native platforms or systems programming.
- Primary mastery of Rust, including Tokio, Tonic, Axum, and sqlx, with proficiency in Go.
- Strong experience with asynchronous concurrency, lock-free patterns, distributed state handling, mock-driven testing, and testable code design.
- Experience designing gRPC/Protobuf contracts, schema evolution, zero-copy serialization, and compile-time type generation.
- Experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators with kube-rs or controller-runtime and CRD-driven reconciliation loops.
- Proven ability to write architectural specifications and participate in constructive design reviews.
- Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL fluency is desired.
- Expertise or familiarity with BGP, MP-BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, L3VNI, route targets, route servers, SONiC, Cumulus Linux, NVUE, NVIDIA DOCA, HBN, BlueField, DPF, InfiniBand, NVLink, RoCEv2, Linux networking, CNI plugins, PXE/iPXE, UEFI, Secure Boot, TPM, Redfish, IPMI, Linux boot systems, identity technologies, and virtualization is desired or advantageous.
- Demonstrated participation in or maintenance of open-source systems projects.
