Responsibilities
- Build clear, maintainable, secure, resilient, and scalable software for well-defined product or platform features.
- Translate requirements into working software and deliver incremental improvements under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Apply testing strategies, write unit and integration tests, and participate in peer code reviews.
- Document technical decisions, maintain runbooks, and follow engineering standards, design patterns, and architectural principles.
- Support operational health by using logs, monitoring, and metrics to diagnose issues and participating in incident response and post-incident reviews.
- Maintain dependencies and security updates, reduce technical debt, and improve code quality, testing, and development workflows.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-team partners to align solutions with user and business outcomes.
- Take ownership of components or small features and begin mentoring junior engineers or new team members where appropriate.
Requirements
- Typically 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in one modern backend stack, with .NET/C# essential and Java or Node.js accepted, plus familiarity with SQL and data skills.
- Experience contributing to production software systems and translating ambiguous requirements into scalable solutions.
- Experience working in Agile cross-functional product development teams.
- Understanding of system design, domain modelling, SOLID, design patterns, and API design.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests and familiarity with CI/CD.
- Cloud and DevOps exposure, preferably AWS, including observability and operational readiness.
- Security-minded approach aligned with Secure SDLC practices.
- Ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and contribute to technical documentation and peer learning.
