Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software platforms and services that automate data center network infrastructure.
- Build APIs, workflows, and user-facing tools for self-service provisioning and change management.
- Develop automation for configuration management, validation, deployment, and network systems.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code patterns and integrate tooling with CI/CD and change-control processes.
- Build observability, telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and data-driven reliability capabilities.
- Collaborate with network, SRE, security, infrastructure, cloud, platform, and application teams.
- Model network intent, topology, and policy in software while maintaining secure, resilient, and scalable production systems.
- Lead technical decisions, contribute to engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with Comcast also considering coursework and related professional experience.
- 5+ to 7.5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similar.
- Experience building distributed systems, APIs, or internal developer platforms.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and load balancing.
- Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.
- Strong understanding of testing, code reviews, and production operations.
- Preferred qualifications include network automation or infrastructure platform development, EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, spine-leaf architectures, network device or controller integrations, telemetry, time-series data, monitoring systems, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, and infrastructure security or access-control models.
