AI Applied Endpoint Software Engineer (TrendLife)
Trend MicroResponsibilities
- Build and deliver Windows client applications using Windows internals, Win32 APIs and system-level development.
- Expand product endpoint coverage to macOS, Linux and other platforms by adapting to their APIs, OS models and toolchains.
- Develop Windows services, shell extensions, COM/DCOM integrations, kernel-mode components and cross-platform system integrations.
- Perform crash analysis and performance profiling with platform-native debugging and tracing tools.
- Build AI-powered endpoint features involving agent orchestration, tool integration and workflow automation.
- Design maintainable, testable software and collaborate with product, QA, architecture and external stakeholders from planning through deployment.
- Automate and improve build and release pipelines across endpoint platforms.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with at least one additional language such as Python, Go, Rust or Swift.
- Deep understanding of Windows internals, the Win32 API, Windows SDK and operating-system-level concepts.
- Experience with Windows platform development, including services, COM/DCOM, the Windows shell, registry, system APIs or kernel-mode development.
- Familiarity with Windows debugging and performance tools including WinDbg, Xperf, ETW, ProcMon and Process Explorer.
- Ability to reason about platform differences across Windows, macOS and Linux and grow expertise in additional endpoint environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and MCP servers, including reviewing and validating generated output.
- Familiarity with system design, design patterns, debugging and testing.
- Preferred experience includes macOS or Linux endpoint development, Endpoint Security Framework, eBPF, kernel modules, D-Bus, Windows drivers, KMDF, UMDF or Windows security mechanisms.
- Preferred familiarity with GitHub Actions, pytest, Selenium, Robot Framework, Docker, AWS, Azure, GCP and cybersecurity concepts or consumer security products.
