Responsibilities
- Build and maintain efficient backend features in Python with the production team.
- Improve application performance and reliability.
- Define and integrate REST APIs.
- Contribute to architectural and design decisions for distributed applications and services.
- Improve delivery pipelines and engineering processes.
- Maintain and support Gcore’s highly integrated billing engine for financial transactions and global service delivery.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of software development principles and the full software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in Python and significant experience with Django.
- Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres, including writing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries.
- Experience with RabbitMQ and Celery.
- Proficiency in creating and consuming APIs.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices, observability tooling, and basic DevOps principles.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate remotely with a globally distributed team.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes is a plus.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, Agile, and test-driven development is a plus.
- Knowledge of additional backend technologies and frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with system monitoring, performance optimization, billing systems, or payment systems is a plus.
