Responsibilities
- Lead a Scrum team as a hands-on engineer while guiding technical direction, architecture, design, and feature implementation.
- Architect and build scalable, containerized Java Spring Boot applications and backend systems.
- Design and implement high-performance APIs and integrations with firm-wide control systems.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on Micro-Frontend applications built with React and Angular.
- Own key features end to end from architectural design and technical specifications through implementation and deployment.
- Pilot and integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve development velocity and code quality.
- Mentor engineers on software design, containerization, and modern development workflows.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience building and designing robust backend systems.
- Mandatory experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience leading technical projects or serving as a tech lead for a development team.
- Understanding of software architecture, microservice design patterns, and API development best practices.
- Interest in or experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and advanced code analyzers.
- React or Angular experience is preferred, and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks is a significant plus.
- Experience in financial services or another large, complex global environment is highly desirable.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
