Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deliver, and improve high-quality scalable and maintainable Java software solutions.
- Develop and optimize Java applications, scalable backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, promote code quality and knowledge sharing, and implement effective unit testing.
- Apply secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Guide technical direction or lead specialists and teams, including coaching and developing less experienced colleagues.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, communicate complex ideas, and advise functional leadership and senior management.
- Manage risks and strengthen controls while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to strategy, requirements, continuous improvement, and long-term technology decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency in Java and expertise developing and optimizing Java-based applications.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Experience designing scalable backend applications in Java.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
- Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Preferred experience with GitLab pipelines and TeamCity.
- Ability to redesign applications and drive simplification efforts.
- Preferred familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to demonstrate risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical skills.
