Responsibilities
- Extend existing Arm diagnostics tools to support Graphcore AI hardware.
- Develop specialized diagnostic, stress-testing, and validation software for CPUs, memory, interconnects, PCIe, and other platform components.
- Build reusable, configuration-driven utilities that integrate with the validation framework and support multiple platforms and silicon revisions.
- Automate diagnostic execution across server and rack-scale validation environments.
- Develop tools to expose intermittent failures such as silent data corruption, timing issues, and hardware instability.
- Debug hardware, firmware, operating system, and driver interactions and improve fault isolation methodologies.
- Collaborate with hardware architects, firmware engineers, validation engineers, and diagnostics teams to identify and implement new diagnostics.
- Create reusable libraries and utilities that improve productivity across validation teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience developing hardware diagnostics, system validation software, firmware validation tools, or low-level systems software.
- Strong software development skills in Python and C/C++.
- Strong Linux systems experience.
- Strong understanding of modern server platform architecture and interactions among CPUs, memory, PCIe, storage, networking, firmware, operating systems, and device drivers.
- Experience debugging hardware/software interactions across multiple platform layers.
- Experience developing diagnostics, stress-testing, or hardware validation software.
- Experience with server platforms, embedded systems, or SoC validation.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating across hardware, firmware, software, and validation teams.
- Preferred experience with Arm-based server platforms, AI accelerators, high-performance computing systems, silent data corruption testing, hardware stress testing, power transient analysis, fault injection, firmware validation, silicon bring-up, performance characterization, hardware telemetry, BMC firmware, and RAS technologies.
- Preferred experience validating CPU scaling and cache behavior, DDR/HBM memory, NUMA effects, interconnect contention, PCIe I/O, and high-speed I/O.
