Base Salary

$150k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end systems design for key scanning engine components from initial design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
  • Design and implement maintainable, well-tested, and observable Python and Go services for scanning workflows.
  • Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of large-scale distributed scanning workloads while meeting strict SLAs.
  • Translate detection and scanning requirements into production-ready systems and APIs with security, product, and data teams.
  • Drive code quality, secure coding practices, design documentation, and rigorous code reviews.
  • Contribute to scanning platform architecture and roadmap decisions by evaluating tradeoffs among speed, quality, and risk.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues involving scanning performance, accuracy, and stability.
  • Mentor and support engineers through design feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer or equivalent working on backend or systems-level services.
  • Proficiency in Python or Go, with the ability and willingness to work in both languages over time.
  • Experience designing distributed or highly available services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining scanning, detection, data-processing, or similar high-throughput engine systems.
  • Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working in a cloud-native environment with services, containers, monitoring, logging, and related operational practices.
  • Ability to collaborate across product, security, data, and platform or infrastructure teams and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.
  • Proven ability to own projects end-to-end from problem definition and design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
  • Comfort making pragmatic technical decisions in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining quality and security.
  • Experience with testing, static analysis, code reviews, and building maintainable systems.
  • Cybersecurity domain knowledge, particularly scanning endpoints, is a bonus.
