Base Salary
$150k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Translate stakeholder requirements into integrations, services, and solutions for the data platform.
- Design and implement scalable backend data infrastructure using PostgreSQL, event pipelines, and APIs.
- Lead complex feature discovery and technical design through RFCs and cross-functional collaboration.
- Maintain high standards for data completeness, idempotency, correctness, and predictable behavior under partial failure.
- Own pipelines that deliver dataset snapshots into the data warehouse.
- Improve operational robustness and usability through documentation, tools, and dashboards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend development experience, including at least 2 years focused on data platforms and backend infrastructure for data-centric applications.
- Strong production proficiency with SQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexes, query tuning, and query-plan analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or equivalent event-processing systems such as RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis.
- Proficiency in Julia or Python; Julia experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments, with familiarity with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Helm.
- Experience with GraphQL and TypeScript/JavaScript, including Node.js.
- Strong collaboration, communication, self-direction, and experience working effectively in hybrid or fully remote teams.
