Base Salary
$120k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend microservices with TypeScript and NestJS on AWS ECS.
- Design, implement, document, secure, and optimize RESTful APIs.
- Migrate AWS Lambda functions to containerized ECS services and refactor legacy systems.
- Collaborate with front-end, mobile, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end features.
- Write tested code, participate in peer reviews, maintain unit and integration tests, and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor service performance, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
- Integrate with billing and subscription platforms including Stripe, Apple, and Google.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend or full-stack applications in a cloud environment.
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript and Node.js proficiency; NestJS is strongly preferred, with Express or Koa accepted as similar framework experience.
- Experience with AWS architecture and deploying containerized applications using ECS, EKS, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, RESTful APIs, API security, and performance optimization.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, efficient queries, and cloud data-access optimization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Terraform or CloudFormation, monitoring, and logging tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog.
- Ability to work across unfamiliar projects, services, and technology stacks.
- Strong communication, collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: experience with REST, gRPC, message queues, API gateways, service mesh, Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices, Stripe, Apple App Store subscriptions, or Google Play subscriptions.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Rotating 24/7 on-call schedule, approximately one week per rotation.
