Base Salary

$186k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend APIs and services for order entry, market data, trade execution, and real-time trading workflows.
  • Own services across technical design, implementation, deployment, observability, scaling, and production support, including on-call participation.
  • Improve the performance, reliability, availability, correctness, latency, and operational readiness of distributed systems.
  • Partner with Product, SRE, Security, and other engineering teams to translate customer and business needs into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, well-tested code, mentorship, and continuous engineering improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend or distributed systems in Java, Go, or a comparable backend language.
  • Experience designing and scaling high-volume, performance-sensitive services with concurrency, event-driven architecture, reliability, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with real-time or financial systems, FIX or comparable market connectivity protocols, or high-throughput messaging technologies such as Aeron or Kafka.
  • Experience building customer-facing APIs using FIX, REST, WebSocket, or comparable protocols and operating services in cloud and Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and event-driven or streaming data systems.
  • Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
