Responsibilities

  • Partner with customer engineering and OCI engineering leadership to ensure customer success.
  • Design infrastructure components including cloud resources, distributed computing systems, and data storage solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional infrastructure initiatives across engineering, operations, and leadership with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability issues and implement mitigations.
  • Identify, communicate, and document potential issues affecting customers.
  • Document infrastructure designs, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience, with education and experience alternatives ranging from 11 years of software development experience to a doctorate plus 3 years.
  • At least 8 years of distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment and stated qualification paths requiring 3–11 years of software development experience.
  • Experience developing in Java, C++, C#, and scripting languages, with automation using Ansible, Terraform, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration of distributed systems.
  • Strong Linux skills, including Oracle Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian system administration, package management, shell scripting, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with cloud platform teams and compute, networking, storage, and identity requirements.
  • At least 3 years of academic or professional cloud platform experience and 4 years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • At least 5 years working in system-level testing and automation.
  • Knowledge of networking, security principles, compliance requirements, quality assurance, software test plans, code review, automation, and software estimation.
  • Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include one year of experience with cloud platforms and people leadership or management experience.
