Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of QA Engineers and manage end-to-end testing across complex, interconnected systems.
  • Define and implement automation strategies for functional, integration, API, regression, and system integration testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for component integration and regression testing.
  • Test RESTful and SOAP APIs, including HTTP responses, status codes, JSON/XML payloads, API keys, OAuth2, and JWT authorization.
  • Write SQL queries and verify backend API data mutations and retrievals across relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Execute load, stress, and concurrency testing to measure system behavior, response times, and error rates.
  • Track and report defects with logs and reproduction steps, and participate in Agile planning, refinement, and stand-ups.
  • Mentor team members on automation practices and collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps teams, Product Owners, and technology partners.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, software engineering, or test automation, focused on backend and API testing.
  • 2+ years of test automation experience and hands-on experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, API, performance, and system integration testing.
  • Experience with TestNG-based hybrid automation frameworks and tools including Selenium WebDriver, Provar, WebDriverIO, Appium, SahiPro, Cucumber, and TestNG.
  • Experience with REST API testing tools including REST Assured, Postman, ReadyAPI, Swagger, and SoapUI.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience with .NET and C# and strong SQL/database skills, including relational or CosmosDB databases.
  • Understanding of HTTP protocols, status codes, microservice architecture, concurrency handling, and API authentication.
  • M.Sc., B.E., or B.Tech in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and deadline-management skills.
  • Preferred: financial services or insurance technology experience, performance engineering, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CI/CD integration, and Agile/Scrum/Test Automation certifications.
